Hotel Review – Hyatt Centric Waikiki Beach

The holidays looked a little different for me this year, and by that, I mean very tropical and warm! While travel restrictions still occur, I was fortunate to travel to one of my favorite places, Hawaii. We flew in on Christmas Eve and checked in at the Hyatt Centric Waikiki Beach for the first few days.

MY EXPERIENCE

Hyatt Centric Waikiki Beach is centrally located in Waikiki, minutes away from various restaurants, shopping, and the beach. When we arrived, the concierge instantly greeted us, who then took us to the front desk to get checked in. Everyone was super friendly, and check-in was seamless! The atmosphere felt very homey. I spent my Christmas here and loved how the lobby was decked out in Christmas decorations!

**A FYI – when traveling to Hawaii, you must have proof of a negative Nucleic Acid Amplification Test (NAAT) for COVID-19 on hand, like all hotels, including Hyatt Centric, will ask you for them at check-in. Though you will be prompt to upload it online, make sure you print it out as well! Guests who arrive without a qualifying negative COVID-19 test must quarantine for 10 days. Hyatt Centric Waikiki Beach did an excellent job maintaining COVID-19 regulations to ensure safeness throughout our stay. Some of the regulations included face coverings required in hotel indoor and outdoor public areas, limited capacity in public areas, and food and bar service has been temporarily unavailable until further notice.

Room:

We stayed in their Ocean View Suite 1 King Bed – which featured a king-sized bed, 55” smart TV, blackout curtains, minifridge, and general amenities.

What I really liked about this room is the mix of both city and ocean views, the unique and clean decor, and the bed — it was very comfortable! Space was just the right size for 1-2 people.

Hotel Dining & Cocktails:

Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, their food and bar service is temporarily unavailable until further notice. However, if you plan to visit when their dining is opened, the Hyatt Centric has a restaurant called The Lanai Restaurant & Bar. Alternatively, they have dining options on the ground level of the hotel.

Hotel Amenities:

Fitness Center

Fitness Center is available to guests 24 hours a day. Due to COVID, you must reserve a time slot at the front desk.

Pool and Hot Tub

Hyatt Centric Waikiki Beach offers guests a splash lounge. Enjoy picturesque rooftop views and relax on a beach chair, or opt for a private cabana. Due to COVID, they do not serve alcohol, but you can BYOB.
