Hotel Review: Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach Resort and Spa

Fancy Nanc-ista

Only steps away from the infamous Waikiki Beach lies a massive twin-tower resort of the name of Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach Resort & Spa. This resort offers guests with an array of luxurious amenities including dining, spa, cultural activities, fitness center and swimming pool overlooking the Pacific Ocean.

Situated in a central location of Waikiki, Hyatt Regency is one to consider when booking your next dream escape.

Last time I was in Waikiki, I stayed actually next door (Aston Waikiki Beach Tower); and with the view I had there, I just knew the view to this hotel would not disappoint.

MY EXPERIENCE
I had arrived into Honolulu around 11 AM that Tuesday; and was hoping for an early check-in. It took about 25-30 minutes from the airport to the resort (an Uber ride costed me about $26).

As I walked up to the front entrance, I was greeted right away by a bellhop. He offered to take my bags while I check in – which was nice, considering, to get to the front desk you have to go up an escalator and walk a bit – this hotel is no joke. It was literally MASSIVE – which means a lot of walking (which was much needed for me because of all the wonderful meals I consumed). Anyway, I lucked out and my room happened to be ready.

The hotel greeted me with a welcoming card with my logo printed; such a nice added touch! They also provided me with two vouchers to try their buffet – which I was pretty excited about.

Room:
Hyatt Regency Waikiki offers guests with large guest bedrooms, each with a private lanai – I stayed in their Ocean View room which featured a king size bed, private balcony and mini cooler. The best part of this room was the amazing ocean view – like I said above, it did not disappoint! Nothing like having a room with incredible views of the ocean; can’t beat it.

One of the cool things about this resort is that they offer guests with filtered water dispensers throughout the hotel, as well as a souvenir water bottle that can be found in your room; keeping you always hydrated!

Hotel Dining and Cocktails:
The massive resort offers guests with great options for food and drinks –

SHOR
Start your mornings here at SHOR; Hyatt’s breakfast buffet. With a variety of locally sourced foods such as meats, cheeses, fish, pastries, fruits and salads – you will no doubt leave with a happy and full belly.

Hours start at 5:30 AM to 11:00 AM

The Buffet at Hyatt
Calling all seafood lovers!! The Buffet at Hyatt is a place to eat to satisfy your seafood cravings – crab legs, poke, sushi, shrimp – even a selection of delightful dessert – you name it; it’s there. With a price of $55+ for adults and $25+ for children (depending on the day of the week); I’d say it’s worth every penny.

My absolute favorite part of the buffet was definitely the poke and sushi station – SO FRESH; so for what it’s worth; definitely check it out for their fresh fish.

Reserve your table here.

SWIM
While you get your tan on by the pool; you can enjoy some lunch and beverages too. During the weekdays they provide entertainments including guitarist Dave Watanabe on Tuesdays, Mystical Sounds Karaoke Night Thursdays and DJ Night with Groovebox Collective Fridays.

Hours opened daily from 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM

The hotel also offers guests the option to order in-room dining service. Select menu options are from SWIM Bar & Restaurant.
