Fanc-ista Travels {Chicago: Downtown}: AC Hotel Chicago Downtown

Right in the middle of downtown Chicago lies a polished and modern boutique hotel called AC Hotel. This hotel is the perfect location for any business traveler or tourist who enjoys the bustling downtown where all the fun and entertainment happens. AC Hotel is a block from upscale shopping on Magnificent Mile and surrounded by various restaurants and bars; what better way to spend Chicago than to be in the center of it all!

I was excited to be right in the center of downtown again, as I used to live a few blocks away – 3 minutes from my favorite gym, blocks away from all of my favorite stores, and endless food and drinks options, I could get used to this.

This hotel was quite small, but what I liked was the room was very spacious and had a nice little balcony where you had a peek of Mag Mile. As I walked in, I immediately felt a “businessy” kind of vibe. The hotel is very clean and contemporary, which was nice. The front desk seemed busy, as I arrived around the time everyone was checking out. Though, I had a miscommunication upfront, it was immediately taken care of upon arrival.

We stayed in their Classic Double, which had 2 double beds, mini-fridge, TV and desk.

AC Hotel has a trendy cocktail bar called AC Lounge located downstairs, an indoor pool and fitness center. The lounge is super chic and modern with comfy seats and a fine view. I’d say my friend and I spent a good time at their AC Lounge and Kitchen, as it was the perfect spot to do work or hold meetings in.

AC Hotel offers guests a breakfast buffet style bar in their AC Kitchen for $15 from 6 AM to 10 AM. The AC lounge serves a variety of cocktails and a section of tapas style food.

What better way to showcase this classy hotel with this classy yet summery dress from Cooper and Ella. Loving the flowered print and ruffled details of this dress, making it all too easy to rock it out this summer. Pairing it with this chic and polished leather clutch and nude/cream summer sandal heels – easily completes this overall summery look.

Overall, I’d recommend this hotel for those visiting Chicago for a business or weekend trip. It’s the perfect location if you want to be near everything – shopping, bars, restaurants, and so much more. It’s also very convenient for those looking to have a drink or quick snack after a long day of work without leaving their hotel {especially during those cold, dreadful winters}.
