Photos Taken at Yauatcha Waikiki
When in Honolulu, the variety of Asian cuisine is limitless. From Vietnamese to Japanese, Chinese and Filipino – it’s my ultimate dream come true. Recently, I traveled to the wonderful islands of Oahu; Honolulu to be exact. While there I had an opportunity to check out one of my now favorite Chinese places Yauatcha Waikiki.
On the bustling streets of Kalakaua, surrounded by renowned shopping stores, you can find this luxurious Chinese gem on the upper floor of International Marketplace. Yauatcha Waikiki is an all-day dim sum tea-house offering classic and contemporary dim sum dishes and jaw dropping patisseries.
MY EXPERIENCE
It was a Friday evening and I had dinner plans at Yauatcha Waikiki – My hotel I was staying at was walking distance to the restaurant; about 10 minutes. I had a bit of trouble finding the restaurant as the mall was quite confusing. Finally, someone directed me to the upper level – the restaurant exterior was stunning as the inside was as well.
As I walked into the restaurant, I was immediately greeted by the hostesses at the front – they quickly checked me in and directed me to my table; I couldn’t help to admire the gorgeous interior of the restaurant and how spacious it was (the Yelp pictures don’t do its’ justice).

FOOD & DRINKS
I started off with a glass of Veuve, with refreshing Rose throughout the entire night.
The menu was enormous! I was a bit overwhelmed and indecisive; so I had my waitress just send me out her favorites – as she spoiled me with many, many dumpling dishes:
- Roasted Duck Pumpkin Puffs
- Shrimp and Chive Dumplings
- Phoenix Tail Shrimp
- Prawn and Crispy Beancurd Cheung Fun
- Water and Prawn and Zucchini Dumplings
The dumplings were extremely tasteful – and each individual dumpling had it’s own unique taste. My favorites were the the Roasted Duck Pumpkin Puffs, Phoenix Tail Shrimp and Prawn and Crispy Beancurd Cheung Fun.
I also tried their main dishes – Black Truffle Roasted Duck; which was absolutely delicious. Moist and perfectly seasoned – I can just taste it in my mouth right now. And I honestly would come back just for that!
Last but not least, I tried three of their desserts:
OVERALL RATING
My dinner as you can see was fulfilling and memorable. Not only was the food absolutely amazing but the entire staff were very accommodating, knowledgeable and remarkable. They made me feel at home – and I definitely would recommend to try this place if you like Chinese cuisine.
