Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel Oslo Review

Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel Oslo

Whenever I visit a new city, I’m always looking for a hotel that’s comfortable, centrally located, and makes sightseeing easy. During my recent 3-day trip to Oslo, I stayed at the Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel Oslo, and honestly, I don’t think I could’ve picked a better place.

This was actually my second stay at a Radisson Blu Plaza property in Oslo, and once again, they exceeded my expectations. Between the incredible views, spacious room, wellness facilities, and convenient location, it quickly became one of my favorite hotels I’ve stayed at in Scandinavia.

If you’re wondering whether the Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel Oslo is worth booking for your trip to Oslo, here’s everything you need to know.

Location

One of the biggest reasons I’d recommend staying here is the location.

The hotel sits just a short walk from Oslo Central Station, making it incredibly convenient if you’re arriving from Oslo Airport. Simply hop on the airport train, and within minutes of arriving at the station, you’ll already be checking into your hotel.

I also loved how walkable everything was. During my stay, I rarely needed transportation because many of Oslo’s top attractions were within walking distance.

From the hotel, it’s easy to visit the National Museum, Oslo Opera House, Karl Johans Gate, Royal Palace, Aker Brygge, Vigeland Park, and Ekebergparken. There are also countless cafés, restaurants, shopping streets, and waterfront walks nearby, making it a fantastic base whether it’s your first time in Oslo or you’re returning for another visit.

My Fjord Suite

I stayed in the Fjord Suite on the 29th floor, and I honestly can’t recommend this room enough.

The moment I walked in, I immediately felt like I was treating myself.

The suite is spacious, beautifully designed, and feels incredibly luxurious without being over the top. Floor-to-ceiling windows overlook Oslo, giving you amazing city views throughout the day and especially at sunset.

After spending hours walking around the city, it was so nice coming back to such a relaxing space. The bed was incredibly comfortable (seriously, I slept so well), and everything about the room felt thoughtfully designed.

If you’re celebrating something special or simply want to spoil yourself while visiting Oslo. I would absolutely recommend booking the Fjord Suite. It’s one of those hotel rooms that makes your trip feel even more memorable.

Breakfast

Breakfast is always one of my favorite parts of staying at a hotel, and Radisson Blu Plaza definitely delivered.

Each morning, I enjoyed the breakfast buffet, which offered a generous selection of fresh fruit, yogurt, eggs, bacon, pastries, Norwegian breads, cereals, juices, coffee, tea, and plenty of hot dishes. Whether you’re looking for something light before heading out or a hearty breakfast to fuel a full day of sightseeing, there’s something for everyone.

Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel Oslo in-room breakfast

If you’re anything like me and occasionally enjoy a slower morning, the hotel also offers in-room breakfast. It’s the perfect option for those cozy mornings when you want to sleep in a little longer, enjoy breakfast in your robe, and take in the city views from your room before starting the day.

Gym, Pool & Sauna

One thing I really appreciated during my stay was taking advantage of the hotel’s wellness facilities.

The fitness center is located on one of the upper floors, so even while working out you get beautiful views overlooking Oslo.

Afterwards, I spent time relaxing in the indoor swimming pool and sauna, which honestly felt amazing after walking over 20,000 steps each day around the city.

These little extras really elevated my stay, and I definitely made good use of all the amenities during my visit.

Dining at the Hotel

Another thing I really enjoyed was having several dining options right inside the hotel.

If you’re looking for beautiful views, definitely make a reservation at The Top Restaurant & Bar. Located on the upper floors, it’s the perfect spot to enjoy dinner or cocktails while overlooking Oslo’s skyline. I loved the atmosphere here, and they have a fantastic selection of drinks and delicious food. Even if you’re not staying at the hotel, it’s worth stopping by.

For something a little more casual, Chicago Pizza & Brew offers pizzas, burgers, comfort food, and plenty of TVs if you want to catch a sporting event. If you’re reading this during the 2026 FIFA World Cup, they’ll also be showing the matches here, making it a fun place to spend an evening.

There’s also The Plaza Lounge located near the main lobby, which is perfect if you’re looking to relax with a coffee, cocktail, or glass of wine after a day of sightseeing.

And if you’re anything like me and occasionally just want a cozy night in after exploring, room service is also available.

Explore Oslo from the Hotel

One of my favorite parts about staying here was how easy it was to explore the city.

Oslo Museums

During my visit, I joined a guided tour of the National Museum with Context Travel, and I honestly learned so much more than I would have exploring on my own. If you enjoy history, art, or learning more about the places you visit, I highly recommend booking one of their tours.

Even better, you can use my code FANCYNANCISTA for 15% off any Context Travel experience.

If it’s your first visit to Oslo, I’d also recommend visiting the Oslo Opera House, walking through Vigeland Park, exploring Ekebergparken, strolling along Karl Johans Gate, and spending an afternoon around Aker Brygge.

One experience I wouldn’t skip is taking a fjord cruise. Seeing Oslo from the water offers a completely different perspective of the city, and there are plenty of sightseeing and dinner cruises to choose from.

If you’re planning to visit multiple attractions, it’s also worth looking into the Oslo Pass, which includes admission to many museums and can save you money during a two or three-day visit.

Overall

I genuinely loved my stay at Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel Oslo.

From the luxurious Fjord Suite and delicious breakfast to the relaxing pool and sauna, every part of my stay felt comfortable and effortless. Add in the central location, incredible city views, and excellent dining options, and it’s easy to see why this is one of Oslo’s most popular hotels.

Whether you’re visiting Oslo for the first time, traveling as a couple, or exploring solo like I was, I think this hotel makes an excellent home base for discovering the city.

I’d absolutely stay here again on my next trip to Oslo.
