Mar Monte Hotel Santa Barbara Review + Stay Guide

Happy October, everyone!! If you didn’t know by now, October is my birth month!! My birthday already passed (October 1), but to celebrate, I’ve had the opportunity to take some fun trips both locally and out of state, and I’m super excited to share them all with you.

My Mar Monte Hotel Santa Barbara Review

To kick off my birthday month and end my friend Lauren’s birthday month, we planned a last-minute getaway to one of my favorite places in California, Santa Barbara. This will be my second time visiting this beautiful town; the first time was in June — and I stayed near downtown Santa Barbara. 

This time around, we stayed at a hotel in Santa Barbara by the beach and scored a room facing the water!! The hotel is called Mar Monte Hotel Santa Barbara, and recently they renovated it with modern amenities and freshly designed rooms and suites. I had the chance to check it out, and not only were we both impressed by the welcoming atmosphere and staff, but how well they implemented COVID-19 regulations. 

Room:

We stayed in their 2 Queen Beds Balcony Queen View room — my favorite part of this room is the beautiful ocean/beach views! 

Hotel Dining & Cocktails:

Cafe Lido

Due to COVID, this is the only restaurant that is currently open. This cute little restaurant offered Mediterranean-style small plates and cocktails which you can enjoy near the Mar Monte Hotel pool deck.

We enjoyed breakfast and a happy hour here and everything was delicious! I totally recommend the mussels, sooo juicy and tasteful!

Costa Kitchen and Bar menu brings the Mediterranean to Santa Barbara with a touch of Middle Eastern flair.

You can enjoy food and drinks by the pool, which is located on the first floor.

Fitness Center

They offer guests with gym access.

Bikes

Like the Palihouse Santa Barbara, guests can rent bikes — just ask the front desk to reserve!

Overall, our stay was short but was very relaxing! If you’re looking to do a 1 or 2-night getaway and want a hotel in Santa Barbara by the beach, I highly recommend Mar Monte Hotel!
