Following my Santa Barbara trip and to continue my birthday celebrations earlier this month, my friend and I took a trip to Scottsdale, Arizona, the following week. I have only been to Scottsdale once before, over 10-years ago, so I don’t remember much, other than it was REALLY HOT! This time around, the weather was still very hot, but I’d much prefer hot than cold tbh.

During our 5-day trip, we had the pleasure of staying in two different hotels, starting at the Mountain Shadows Resort Scottsdale.

MY EXPERIENCE

The Mountain Shadows Resort is a beautiful resort with stunning mountain views and luxury amenities. The resort gave off a ‘home away from home’ vibe, leaving us feeling comfortable and right at home instantly. Checking in was a breeze and the employees made you feel welcomed throughout our entire stay.

As always, this hotel followed strict COVID-19 protocol – where masks were required in all public areas (with a few exceptions), as well as social distancing must be maintained. For more information on their Pristine Clean Program, please click here.

Room:

We stayed in their Mountain Guestroom, and it was a great space for 2 people. The room featured floor-to-ceiling glass and a private patio where we enjoyed the iconic mountain views.

Hotel Dining & Cocktails:

Mountain Shadows Resort Scottsdale offers guests a variety of food options.

Hearth ‘61

Enjoy breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner at Hearth ‘61. During our stay, we enjoyed some dinner at the bar. Both the food and staff were great, recommend it!

Rusty’s

Rusty’s features great food and craft brews. Enjoy drinks every day, and food Thursdays through Sundays.

Room service is also an option and is available in a to-go format.

Hotel Amenities:

Pool

The Citizens Club pools are opened for swimming and lounging to those staying at the resort. The pool was STUNNING and is definitely a highlight of this resort! The hours are from 6 AM to 10 PM. Click here for more information.

Fitness Center

The fitness center is open from 6 AM to 2 PM daily.

Golf Course

Mountain Shadows Resort offers guests a beautiful 18-hole course, where you can enjoy the outdoors and practice social distancing.

OVERALL RATING

We very much enjoyed our stay at Mountain Shadows Resort in Scottsdale – from the modern amenities to the welcoming atmosphere, I highly recommend checking out this resort!

Hey there! I plan to celebrate Christmas in Scottsdale with my family, and I’m still clueless about where we should stay. Gladly, I read your post. Mountain Shadows Resort seems interesting and intriguing – I think I found the perfect place to stay. I guess my mom and sister will have a good time in the pool while my dad and husband will enjoy the golf course. Of course, I will not miss the Rusty’s. But is there a kitchenette available?
