Meet Steve of The Social Cut
Steve is a graduate of California State Polytechnic University Pomona with a double major in Business Marketing and International Business. He has worked in the marketing field for several years with major companies managing their marketing department and also served as an image consultant. After a few years of realizing his true passion for men’s fashion and grooming, it was a natural fit for Steve to start a blog that provides the best fashion and professional advice.
1) What made you want to start your blog and how would you describe your style in 3 words?
I never thought I would be a blogger. I’ve worked with major media companies managing their marketing department and also served as an image consultant. I also found myself helping colleagues with tips on how to improve their personal and professional image. After a few years of realizing my true passion for men’s fashion and grooming, it was a natural fit to start my own blog.
The 3 words that best describe my style would be: Modern, classic and vintage.
2) Who is your fashion inspiration?
I like to get my inspiration from fashion icons from the past. I’m talking about the likes of James Dean, Frank Sinatra, JFK and even get mobster-chic like Al Capone. I like taking their style and making it my own.
3) What’s the one wardrobe essential you can’t live without?
If I had to pick one wardrobe piece I can’t live without it would be my Topman Camel Marl Puritan Hat. I go into phases of favorite items to wear and right now I’m really into hats.
4) What is your most favorite thing about blogging?
That’s really tough to narrow down. I can best summarize my favorite part of blogging to sharing my ideas with people who I can relate to. It’s amazing what a blog can do. To think that someone takes the time to hear what I have to say, and even more when they actually taken my advice, is amazing.
5) What is a quick fashion tip or advice for men?
If you like it, wear it. You don’t have to look like you’re dressing up for a fashion runway to look fashionable. Just always look your best. Whatever your style is.
6) Do you have any favorite stores or brands?
I’m always in search for that one-of-a-kind piece of clothing at local vintage stores. You can also find me searching for good finds at H&M, Banana Republic and J. Crew to name a few.
7) What would you say is your favorite fall/winter trend?
A scarf is one of my favorite fall accessories. But for the fall/winter season a regular scarf won’t do. I’m going with faux fur scarf! The faux fur scarf is a statement piece that’ll turn heads this season.
Steve has a very chic, dapper and sharp style, and I am loving it! Faux fur scarves will definitely turn heads this season! What do you guys think? Make sure to get more of Steve by visiting his blog, see more of his great looks by following his Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and YouTube.
