Meet Kieran of Tag Lover

Manly Mondays are back, with a new weekly series, featuring my favorite Men Bloggers from all across the globe.  Each Monday, you’ll get the inside scoop on the different trends, tips, and of course the man behind his blog.   If you are interested in being featured in my Manly Monday’s series, please email me fancynancista@gmail.com. |

Kieran, a menswear style and lifestyle blogger.  He is a GQ Insider, and is on the search for what makes an elegant gentleman.  He also loves design, travelling, and music.

1) What made you want to start your blog and how would you describe your style in 3 words?
I started my blog as a means of sharing my opinions and interest in men’s style to people with a similar interest in me.  Even though it’s still relatively early days for me, I hope o keep growing as a writer, as a stylist, brand representative and contribute to the growing global men’s style, lifestyle, and fashion movement.  In regards to my own personal style, I would say it’s clean, fairly preppy and ready for any occasion.  I’m sure someone once said that you should always dress well because you never know who you might meet.

2) Who is your fashion inspiration?
In regards to fashion inspirations, I take inspiration from anyone and everyone.  I guess being a blogger I spend a huge amount of time on Instagram, Twitter, and Bloglovin checking out new bloggers.  At the moment I especially like Tommy Lei from My Belonging.  He often sports a very clean, minimal look but with garments with interesting cuts and silhouettes which is always refreshing in menswear especially.  In regards to perhaps more popular fashion inspirations, I would have to go with the singer songwriter MIKA.  He is always bold, clean, and not afraid of color and statement pieces.  However, I think I agree with Ralph Lauren that “style is very personal.  It has nothing to do with fashion.  Fashion is over quickly.  Style is forever.”  So what inspires me mostly is a good sense of style, not necessarily what is trending or fashionable each season.

3) What’s the one wardrobe essential you can’t live without?
Scarf!  I like to think my trademark is a scarf, however recently I haven’t been wearing scarves as much because of the warmer weather.  Nevertheless, a scarf is my essential.

4) What is your most favorite thing about blogging?
For me blogging is all about sharing something and creating something.  People consume material on the internet in copious amounts.  I have always preferred creating content, rather than consuming it.  So, for me, the best part about blogging is creating something from nothing and sharing that for anyone to see.  The other aspect that I most enjoy is being able to network.  Networking is valuable for many people, but especially for bloggers and content creators like us.  So I love being part of things like this and being able to build a community and learn from others wherever I can.  It’s a constant pendulum of giving and taking and I love that.

5) What is a quick fashion tip for men?
Don’t be afraid of what others may think.  There area always going to be stereotypes around well dressed gentleman.  Style is more about expression and wearing what you feel comfortable in.  For some, style is armor, for me it’s about expression.  But it can be both and there is nothing wrong with that.  Moreover, don’t neglect male grooming.  You can look dapper head to toe, but take care of your body both from a health perspective and a grooming perspective.

6) Do you have any favorite stores or brands?
This is a tricky one for me.  I like to keep an open mind and focus on the garment itself and not which store it came from.  However, I do often find myself in high street stores such as Zara and Topman.  But recently, I am looking for quality garments that are well crafted and unique, tather than your average high street items.  It goes back to this idea of style being individual.  I try to look for things that are unique, regardless of the store.  However, saying that, I love to have an experience when shopping and I think that you if you want an experience, you can’t beat Selfridges in London.

Thanks Kieran for participating in my series, love reading your thoughtful, detailed and thorough answers!  You are a great writer and inspiration!  Want more of Kieran’s style?  Make sure you check out his blog, Twitter, Instagram, BlogLovin, and Google+ accounts!
