Hotel Review – Fairmont Century Plaza

Fairmont Century City Plaza Cover

Following my stay at the Sofitel Los Angeles, I spent my last two nights at the Fairmont Century Plaza. The hotel was renovated this past fall, and I had the pleasure of checking it out before my trip to Europe.

MY EXPERIENCE

Once we pulled into the driveway, the bellhops greeted us immediately and assisted us with our bags. Excellent service!

The Fairmont Century Plaza is stunning both outside and inside, which is no surprise considering all Fairmont properties are. We were able to check in early, and our room was ready within 20 minutes of our arrival.

Room:

During my stay, I stayed in a 1 king bedroom with a balcony that overlooks the city. It was the perfect size for 1-2 people. I liked the modern and classy decor in the room.

Hotel Dining & Cocktails:

LUMIÉRE

French technique and California style combine in this contemporary French brasserie’s cuisine that is locally sourced and made from seasonal ingredients.

Breakfast here was simple yet delicious. View more info here.

THE BAR AT CENTURY PLAZA

The Fairmont Century City Plaza The Bar

A prominent feature of the hotel is The Bar, which you’ll find as soon as you enter. The Bar features premium cocktails inspired by the Fairmont Century Plaza’s musical past in 1966.

There is also live music at the Bar in the early evenings, so it is worth checking out regardless of whether you are staying at the hotel or not!

We tried a variety of cocktails, and I enjoyed them all. If you’re hungry, they also serve bites! I highly recommend the burger! More info here.

THE POOL BAR AT CENTURY PLAZA

At the time of my visit, the Pool Bar at Century Plaza was closed. You can find it in the hotel’s 17th-floor pool. You can find California-inspired cocktails at the bar. Hotel guests and residents can use the pool.

Hotel Amenities:

POOL

The pool is located on the 17th-floor of the hotel. It has a beautiful view of Los Angeles.

FITNESS CENTER

The fitness center at the Fairmont Century Plaza is equipped with the latest machines and weights. It is open 24/7.

SPA

Enjoy a luxury spa day at the Fairmont Century Plaza. You can choose from a variety of spa treatments including massages, facials, and body treatments.

My favorite part of the trip was this! There is nothing more relaxing than a spa day. Their spa has nine treatment rooms, including a steam room and sauna.

OVERALL RATING

Overall, I enjoyed my stay. This hotel offers an accommodating staff, a beautiful environment, and a relaxing stay. I highly recommend it during your Los Angeles visit! The location is also excellent, right next to Century City mall and in the center of Los Angeles.

Huge thanks to the team over at Fairmont Century City Plaza for hosting my stay – as always, all opinions are my own.

    Hi there

I am travelling to LA (from Melbourne, Aus) in a month. I have narrowed it down to the Fairmont and Sofitel but having trouble deciding! Did you prefer either one? I feel like the Fairmont seems fancier/newer but perhaps the Sofitel is better located for sightseeing/restaurants etc. Would love to hear your thoughts!

Hey Melissa! I just saw this! Sorry! These are def both great choices! And they are both really close to each other. Fairmont is definitely really nice but it’s in a business area – the only really close place is the Century City Mall which has everything from shopping, restaurants, movie theater – and it’s close near Beverly Hills too! Sofitel is in a good location – walkable to a ton of restaurants and shopping! It’s still a really nice hotel too. So it depends on if you want to be able to walk or not 🙂
