Fanc-ista Eats: Dining with Tortoise Supper Club

Fancy Nanc-ista
The perfect candlelit evening out is at Tortoise Supper Club, located on 350 North State Street, adjacent to the Hotel Chicago and just a few blocks away from the infamous Hubbard bars.

Imagine dimmed lights, classic music and a wide selection of traditional American and seafood choices. As we walked in that Tuesday night, we were greeted right away whom happened to be the manager; he was very kind and cheerful and prompt, as we were seated right away.

Our waiter was very helpful as she listed all the specials and recommendations for the night; my sister and I decided on some of the seasonal dishes as well as a few traditional items.

Started the night off with some good ol’ oysters, which were really good!

Also ordered french onion soup to start off, (was hoping they’d have the lobster bisque) normally I don’t really like french onion but this soup was very tasty and just the right size!

Then for entrees: 8 oz filet, Chilean Sea Bass and Green Tea Smoked Coconut Tempera Shrimp

Amazing, perfectly cooked, one of my favorites!

Overall, always have a good time at this place. This is my second time coming here, if you missed my first review, you can check it out here. If you want prompt and excellent service, great crowd and atmosphere and delicious, fresh food, Tortoise Supper Club is definitely recommended!
Lastly, ended the night with a scoop of chocolate ice cream.
