Yet also be aware there are ferocious animals such as wolves, cougars, and black bears that live in the Rockies.
Camping Among Wildlife
When you go camping, you can go the entire time without seeing a single animal. This is disappointing if you love wildlife, and the kids won’t have as much fun. Fortunately, there are dedicated camping areas all over the USA where you can set your tent among gentle creatures such as horses. One great example is the famous Maryland camping grounds at Assateague Island. This is also close to almost 40 miles of stunning beaches and coast and a state park.
