Conrad New York Downtown Review

After previously staying 3 nights in a very cramped, old and dusty hotel, it was quite a luxury and treat to spend our last night at Conrad Hotel New York. First and foremost, Conrad is located in New York’s Battery Park City (lower part of Manhattan) steps away from iconic and historical attractions such as the World Trade Center and minutes from the Hudson River. Our last hotel was located right in the center of downtown; so it was nice to be away from all the noise and crowded areas for a change.

Why Stay at Conrad New York Downtown

As we first walked into the Conrad Hotel New York, it was like a breath of fresh air. First thing I thought was, “Wow! This hotel is very spacious!” Overall, the hotel was a piece of art itself, with gorgeous high ceiling architecture; Conrad New York is no doubt, a “wow factor” – you can’t help but to stop and stare.

Though we didn’t get our early check-in request, the hotel staff was very accommodating and pleasant.

Suites & Amenities

This luxury hotel in downtown New York offers guests with suite-type rooms; my friend Lena of The Wanderliste and I had the pleasure of staying in their deluxe double bed suite. Let me tell you, from staying in a tiny, boxed room previously; we were beyond spoiled. The room was SO SPACIOUS – modern and chic. The deluxe suite featured a living room, bathroom, and separate bedroom with two double beds. The suite also contained a fully-stocked refrigerator, desk and two TV’s.

I have been to New York a few times and stayed at various hotels but have never been this pleased or happy with my hotel. The hotel also offers guests 24/7 access to the fitness center, a rooftop bar and restaurant on site. It is one of the best hotels in NYC.

During our stay, Lena and I dined in at their restaurant, Atrio, a Mediterranean restaurant and wine bar. This sophisticated restaurant featured a selection of flavorful cuisine and a variety of handcrafted cocktails. Atrio is open daily and is available for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

We had the pleasure of trying a wide variety of dishes, starting off with appetizers such as calamari and tuna tartare – both were light and tasteful. Then we ordered their chitarra alla pomodoro – which was basically a type of spaghetti – and I must say, it was my absolute favorite dish! We then ordered a few entrees such as steamed mussels and scallops, and lastly ordered their crème brulee for dessert. After a long day of not eating, it’s safe to say, Lena and I were both very satisfied with this meal.

With a mix of fashionably chic and sophistication; I’d say Lena and I go hand and hand with the Conrad hotel, doncha think? 😉

From the stunning architectural hotel lobby, chic and modern rooms and very accommodating staff; Conrad New York exceeded my expectations. If you are visiting New York and looking for a top notch, high quality hotel, Conrad is definitely recommended in my books. It’s also very conveniently located minutes away from NYFW runway shows!

This is my go to luxury hotel in downtown NYC. I stayed in this hotel twice, you can read my 2nd review here.
