Simple White Dress

"Even the simplest things can be beautiful."

White: simple, clean and classy.  The simplicity of white allows you to create endless ways to dress your look, almost serving as a blank canvas.  Among all the colors I own in my closet, white is actually one of my favorite colors to wear.

I have noticed lately I have been obsessing over tshirt dresses, it's almost becoming a collection in my closet.  Although when I saw this dress I fell in love and had to get it!

From the faux leather texture to the peplum waist, this dress is a combination of sophisticated yet feminine.

Simple accessories such as pearl earrings, a black clutch completes the sophistication theme I was going for.  Lastly, a pair of fun printed pointies help complete the look!

How would you dress your white dress?

Little Black Dress

Every girl needs a little black dress; as I may not have many black dresses or much of black at all, this dress caught my eye.  From the shiny fabric to the lovely crochet detail at the bottom, this dress is remarkable in its own way.

Instead of the typical black on black look, I dressed this look more casual, but chic and gave it a summery taste. Since the dress itself is the "star" to my outfit, I kept my accessories simple with a black clutch and silver jewelry.  Summer is approaching with highs of 40s?? (haha)  I decided to finish my look off with strapped heels and a floppy hat, which are two essentials needed for this upcoming season.

And lastly, red lips and statement earrings are a nice touch to your look.  By the way, I love these earrings!  Big, bold and shiny, just the way I like it!  I got these earrings from my Rocksbox this month, which you can sign up and get your first box free with code 'fancynancistaxoxo' at checkout!

Franz Banocnoc is a media student from UST.  His interests include photography and design, where he was able to learn more about himself.  Franz decided to explore new areas, so he gave blogging a try.  Since then, he has been given and awarded many opportunities, which inspired him to continue his journey with blogging.

1) What made you want to start your blog and how would you describe your style in 3 words?
Being an advertising student, I started blogging to be productive and active.  With all the inspirations I get from social media, it gave me a thought to go and make one.  I really love the idea of inspiring others and teaching them some particular skills I know.  If I'd describe my style in 3 words, street, minimal and preppy.

2) Who is your fashion inspiration?
Gian Maria Sainato!

3) What's the one wardrobe essential you can't live without?
I don't leave the house without wearing a watch!  It's fashion and function!

4) What is your most favorite thing about blogging?
Blogging is all about having fun, really.  I enjoy mostly the shoot and the bonding I have with my photographers!

5) What is a quick fashion tip or advice for men?
Invest on the basics!  Get everything you need in the closet and you'll never find yourself in trouble.

6) Do you have any favorite stores or brands?
Zara would always be my favorite!

Thanks so much Franz for joining us today!  Make sure you check out Franz website here, and follow him on Instagram

Floral + Lace

Floral shorts and lace crop tops..  Doesn't it get you excited for the warm weather?  For us Chicagoans, not sure when that will be... But at least we were fortunate enough to get some warm days last week!

Floral shorts are a great piece for any spring or summer wardrobe. So when I heard that mother nature decided to shine some warmth down on us, I was ecstatic to finally wear these shorts!  I love to mix and match colors and prints when I choose my outfit.  There are many ways to style these shorts, one of the ways, wearing it with my bright yellow lace crop top.  The yellow top complemented the blue floral print really nicely.  Since the colors were the stand out pieces of my look, I finished it off with nude pieces.  And I thought this look fit the warm weather theme that we had recently!

Brandon (Wall Street Paper) joined me on this lovely day at the beach!

Manly Mondays are back, with a new weekly series, featuring my favorite Men Bloggers from all across the globe.  Each Monday, you’ll get the inside scoop on the different trends, tips, and of course the man behind his blog.   If you are interested in being featured in my Manly Monday’s series, please email me fancynancista@gmail.com. |

Kieran, a menswear style and lifestyle blogger.  He is a GQ Insider, and is on the search for what makes an elegant gentleman.  He also loves design, travelling, and music.

1) What made you want to start your blog and how would you describe your style in 3 words?
I started my blog as a means of sharing my opinions and interest in men's style to people with a similar interest in me.  Even though it's still relatively early days for me, I hope o keep growing as a writer, as a stylist, brand representative and contribute to the growing global men's style, lifestyle, and fashion movement.  In regards to my own personal style, I would say it's clean, fairly preppy and ready for any occasion.  I'm sure someone once said that you should always dress well because you never know who you might meet.

2) Who is your fashion inspiration?
In regards to fashion inspirations, I take inspiration from anyone and everyone.  I guess being a blogger I spend a huge amount of time on Instagram, Twitter, and Bloglovin checking out new bloggers.  At the moment I especially like Tommy Lei from My Belonging.  He often sports a very clean, minimal look but with garments with interesting cuts and silhouettes which is always refreshing in menswear especially.  In regards to perhaps more popular fashion inspirations, I would have to go with the singer songwriter MIKA.  He is always bold, clean, and not afraid of color and statement pieces.  However, I think I agree with Ralph Lauren that "style is very personal.  It has nothing to do with fashion.  Fashion is over quickly.  Style is forever."  So what inspires me mostly is a good sense of style, not necessarily what is trending or fashionable each season.

3) What's the one wardrobe essential you can't live without?
Scarf!  I like to think my trademark is a scarf, however recently I haven't been wearing scarves as much because of the warmer weather.  Nevertheless, a scarf is my essential.

4) What is your most favorite thing about blogging?
For me blogging is all about sharing something and creating something.  People consume material on the internet in copious amounts.  I have always preferred creating content, rather than consuming it.  So, for me, the best part about blogging is creating something from nothing and sharing that for anyone to see.  The other aspect that I most enjoy is being able to network.  Networking is valuable for many people, but especially for bloggers and content creators like us.  So I love being part of things like this and being able to build a community and learn from others wherever I can.  It's a constant pendulum of giving and taking and I love that.

5) What is a quick fashion tip for men?
Don't be afraid of what others may think.  There area always going to be stereotypes around well dressed gentleman.  Style is more about expression and wearing what you feel comfortable in.  For some, style is armor, for me it's about expression.  But it can be both and there is nothing wrong with that.  Moreover, don't neglect male grooming.  You can look dapper head to toe, but take care of your body both from a health perspective and a grooming perspective.

6) Do you have any favorite stores or brands?
This is a tricky one for me.  I like to keep an open mind and focus on the garment itself and not which store it came from.  However, I do often find myself in high street stores such as Zara and Topman.  But recently, I am looking for quality garments that are well crafted and unique, tather than your average high street items.  It goes back to this idea of style being individual.  I try to look for things that are unique, regardless of the store.  However, saying that, I love to have an experience when shopping and I think that you if you want an experience, you can't beat Selfridges in London.

Thanks Kieran for participating in my series, love reading your thoughtful, detailed and thorough answers!  You are a great writer and inspiration!  Want more of Kieran's style?  Make sure you check out his blog, Twitter, Instagram, BlogLovin, and Google+ accounts!

Fancy meets Wall Street

Happy Hump Day!  Hope you all are having a wonderful week!  For this week's post, I had the opportunity to do a collab with one of my favorite menswear bloggers - Brandon of Wall Street Paper.  Brandon was visiting from NYC last weekend, and thought what better way to celebrate the derby by doing a derby themed shoot at one of my favorite places in the city, Drumbar at the Raffaello Hotel (located on 201 E.Delaware).  Hope you enjoy!

ASOS wide culottes | ZARA strapped heels (similar) | ASOS sunglasses

This outfit is not your typical derby look, but is very summery, and yet appropriate for any derby party.  Culottes are so in right now, and are a definite must-piece to be in your closet this season!

So I have been searching high and low for the perfect culotte pants ever since I laid eyes on them.  When I came across these ones from ASOS, I fell in love!  These wide-legged short pants are so comfortable yet so chic at the same time!  Culottes, can be worn different ways, but I chose to wear it with a simple white flowy tank, and a nice yellow statement piece.  I then finished off the look with white strapped heels, a nude clutch and sunglasses.

Cheers to meeting new friends!  Fun fact: I found Brandon on Instagram, while I was searching for some menswear bloggers to interview for my Manly Monday's series!  It's truly amazing how social media can connect us with people from all around the world.  I am truly blessed to have met such incredible people throughout my journey and I am truly thankful for all of you who have been supporting me and joining me on this adventure!  For more pictures on our derby looks, check out Brandon's post here!

How did you celebrate the derby?  What do you guys think of our looks?
