Mixing and Matching Colors

Happy Monday all!  I recently moved to LA and I am still adjusting to the times!  I apologize for being MIA recently, I will be writing a separate post later about why I moved to LA.  So far, it's been good, I recently created a new IG account for all of you who would like to follow me on my food and travel adventures!  @FancistaTravels :-)

Today won't be a traditional "Manly Mondays" post, but posting an outfit of the day taken by my awesome Chicago photographer, Jake Cohen.  (If anyone is interested mention me, he specializes in weddings, portraits and newborns)

My favorite thing to do when deciding on an outfit, is mixing and matching prints or colors together that you'd never expect would look good together.

Mixing and matching colors can be a fun but challenging task to conquer.  When mixing and matching colors, a few easy ways to accomplish it is finding complement and contrast colors to go together.  Try to find colors directly opposite from each other on the color wheel, such as blue and orange or purple and yellow.  Another way is picking one color scheme and wearing a darker shade with a lighter shade, in my case pink.

For today's look, I mixed two colors together that are great for this summer season.  The dark red/pink shade to the light pink shade creates a nice mix.  And lastly, simple accessories such as white strapped heels, and a nude clutch help to complete the look.

Mixing colors can help bring the best out of your look, so don't be afraid to play around and have fun with it!

Are you up for the challenge?
